Our neighborhood is forever changed by the tragedy of April 15. Dorchester is a community of action and determination, and despite our grief and shock we are compelled to act.

On May 19, 2013, we invite you to take part in Hometown Comfort, a day for our community to honor victims and first responders by collecting needed blood for Brigham & Women's Hospital and Dana Faber, raising money for The One Fund Boston, and supporting one another with the embrace of a hometown.

Join us for a day of activities on Sunday, May 19.

IBEW Local 103 has generously donated the use of its facility at 256 Freeport Street, Dorchester, for this event.

Blood Drive

12:00-6:00 PM

The Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Faber will conduct a blood drive inside the hall. Online preregistration will available starting Saturday, may 11th

Family Activities

12:00-4:00 PM

There will be games, food, raffles, and other activities for children and adults in an outdoor tent.

Evening Activities

6:00-9:00 PM

The tent will be converted for an evening of comfort food, live entertainment, and a live auction. Tastings will be prepared by Dorchester and area chefs.

2013 South Boston Pop Warner Football & Cheerleading Registration Information

South Boston Pop Warner football and cheerleading will be holding an early registration on:

-Tuesday, May 7th – 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the South Boston Neighborhood House

The benefit of the early registration is a reduced registration fee.A through E registration fees will be $125 and F players will be $75.Registration fee decreases by $25 for each additional child.This will be the last early registration.

Regular registrationsare set for

-Tuesday, May 14th – 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the South Boston Neighborhood House

-Tuesday, May 21st – 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the South Boston Neighborhood House

A through E registration fees will be $150 and F players will be $100.

This registration is for both football and cheerleading.We will not be accepting registrations for A level football .

Players from previous years must sign up each year.No player or cheerleader is guaranteed a spot on a roster.The maximum team size is 35 and registrations are taken on a first come, first served basis.Waiting list will be formed once we reached 35 per team.

Paperwork needed to participate

1)An original birth certificate (no copies).Certified copies are on-file for players who participated on the A through E teams.No Tiny Mite players birth certificates were certified.

2)National Registration Form can be downloaded from our website www.SBPW.com.The form has to be totally completed with both the parent and players’ signature on the backside of the form.

3)National Medical Waiver can be downloaded from our website.

The form has to be completed by a doctor or nurse practitioner and has to be dated after January 1, 2013.Physicals prior to January 1, 2013 will not be accepted.

4)Registration fee.

5)Copy of the June 2013 report card – which will be collected in the summer.

If you do not have items 1 – 4, you will not be allowed to register your child.

St. Ann Parish Youth Choir

The St. Ann Parish Youth Choir will meet every Tuesday afternoon from 2:30 P.M.-3:30 P.M. Choir membership is free but students are expected to sing at the Sunday 10:30 A.M. Family mass every week.

Members of the choir should meet Mrs. McCourt in the St. Ann/Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy, Neponset gym/auditorium for choir rehearsal on Tuesdays. Rehearsals will be in the Music Room.Students should be picked-up promptly after rehearsal.If there are other activities planned (after-school program at PJP2), please be sure to include this information on this form.

The Choir will meet at the church on Sunday at 10:00 A.M. for mass.

Interested students should come to rehearsal beginning Tuesday, September 11, 2012 and bring the signed portion below to Mrs. McCourt, Director.


Neighborhood Children’s Theatre, Inc. at St. Ann Parish, Dorchester directed byMrs. Michelle McCourt, is for children, ages 7-18 who like to sing, dance and act.NCT class/rehearsal will be conducted Tuesday from 3:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. in the Music Room in the school (PJP2 Neponset) beginning Tuesday, September ll. (N.B. More rehearsals may be necessary before major productions.)

NCT will present holiday concerts between Columbus Day and Christmas. NCT will present one Major Broadway Musical Theatre Production, this year, during April vacation, 2012. Members of NCT will travel on a concert-tour (additional cost).

Students must purchase a red polo uniform shirt with their first name on the front and “Boston”on the back (1 ½ in. white letters) for performance, obtainable at Super-Flash T-shirts, 1731 Centre St. West Roxbury (Ask for Chuck 617-323-9374.).Students will wear navy uniform pants and white sneakers.

Annual membership, September through June, is $100 per child (with family discount for more than one child). Please make checks payable to Neighborhood Children’s Theatre of Boston, Inc. For more information, e-mail NCTBoston@comcast.net. NCT is a non-profit organization. Dues pay for Royalties, rentals, choreographer, special musicians and concert arrangements. Funds collected from performances are used to help pay part of the members’ concert-tours.
